James G. Vella

NMAH Board Member; President, Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services

James G. Vella is President of Ford Motor Company's philanthropic organization, Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services, and formerly the company's Chief of Staff and Vice President of Public Affairs. His career at Ford began in 1988 as a producer for Ford Communications Network, coordinating internal television programs. Mr. Vella was appointed Vice President, Public Affairs in August 2002, after having been appointed Vice President of Corporate Public Affairs and a Vice President of Ford Motor Company in November 2001. Prior to that, he had been Executive Director, Corporate Communications since June 2000. Most recently, Mr. Vella served as Chairperson of Ford Motor Company Fund’s board of directors and was responsible for the creation of Ford Volunteer Corps in 2005, to connect Ford employees, retirees and others in the extended Ford Family to a wide range of projects in their communities. Before joining Ford, he worked in television news at local affiliate stations for 14 years. Mr. Vella resides in Deerborn, MI.
