The country's only National Museum of American History offers corporations and other organizations an opportunity unavailable anywhere else—to co-host a reception or dinner right around the corner from highly acclaimed permanent exhibitions featuring one-of-a-kind national treasures such as the Star-Spangled Banner, George Washington's uniform, Thomas Jefferson's writing desk, First Ladies inaugural gowns, the first automobile to cross the United States, and Dorothy's Ruby Slippers. The Special Events Office can arrange receptions for as many as 3,500 guests or an intimate dinner for 10. The Museum displays three centuries of the nation's history —and exhibitions related to guests' interests can be open to customize each event. The Museum offers a variety of different event spaces, ranging from The Flag Hall with the garrison flag raised at the Pentagon on September 12, 2001 to exhibition backdrops like the circa 1902 elegant Cross Hall of the White House. Your guests will take a step back in time as they enjoy cocktails or dinner at events featuring such exhibitions as "The Price of Freedom: Americans at War" which tells compelling stories of how Americans have fought to establish the nation's independence, determine its borders, shape its values of freedom and opportunity, and define its leading role in world affairs. The Museum's 5th floor roof terrace with fabulous views of the National Mall is also available for daytime and evening events. To learn
