The Musician's Home. – The 'Aschenbrödel Club' in their new home. – It starts with a happy Kommers.-

The Aschenbrödel Club has built itself a new home on 86th St. near Lexington Ave. They can be proud of it! It is an architectural ornament in the upper city. About 600 members gathered yesterday afternoon and were led by the Leiboldt orchestra at Eckstein's Assembly rooms on East 4th St. near the [old] club house and marched through several streets of the lower city to 8th St. and 1st Ave. from where they took the elevated train to 89th St. They were greeted by their President and Chairman of the Building Committee, C. A. Goepel.

The building contains an old-German style pub, four bowling lanes, kitchen and storage rooms. The first floor has a meeting room, billiard hall, Café and private rooms. The second floor has committee rooms, offices and an elegant reading room with a plentiful library. The third floor houses a large concert hall for 1,000 persons, with living quarters above. Guests of honor included: van der Stucken, Anton Seidel, Walter Damrosch, Wm. Steinway, R. Katzenmayer, George and Frank Ehret and many others from the German community in New York.
