Anne Conant was a valuable participant in the early years of the Steinway Diary project.

Providing administrative support in the organization of volunteer meetings and reports, Conant worked diligently to keep project efforts moving forward. She greatly enjoyed working with the other project personnel, especially remembering how interesting and supportive Henry Steinway, William’s grandson, was. After resigning from the project, Conant was one of the first persons to offer financial support.

Conant was born in Kitzmiller, Maryland and later moved with her family to Cumberland. After graduating from high school she worked at various government agencies in the Washington, DC area. Born in 1920, Conant is now in her 90th year and lives in Falls Church, Virginia.
