Strategic Plan 2020-2030

Dear Friends,

We are so pleased to welcome you into our process for creating change at the National Museum of American History. This 2020-2030 Strategic Plan will guide our work from this moment and through the decade with a newly articulated mission and vision. In the midst of a global pandemic and widespread protests against systemic racism, I strongly believe that the museum must actively participate with its communities to create a just and compassionate world. 

I am grateful to my wonderful colleagues, our engaged and devoted board members, and to thoughtful audience members like you for offering your ideas and expressing your expectations of us. With your guidance, we will be an institution that serves you—all of you—with purpose and inspiration.
