Description:

The “MERCURIC CHLORIDE H8CI2” on this 4 oz. glass bottle refers to the original contents. The “W.T. CO. U.S.A." inscription refers to Whitall Tatum, the manufacturer of the bottle. The “PAT. MAY 1, 1883” inscription on the rim refers to Frank Fanning Jewett (1844-1926), the Oberlin College chemistry professor who designed the stopper.
