International Year of the Child

Description:

The 1979 International Year of the Child was a way to draw attention to the problems faced by children across the world including malnutrition and lack of education. It was preceeded by the 1959 Declaration of the Rights of the Child and followed by the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child.
