Memorex Model 660-1 Disc Drive with Cable


This Memorex Model 660-1 disc drive is in a steel cabinet which is gray with blue panels on the front and back. The drive mechanism can be seen through a glass window in the lid atop the cabinet. The lid is hinged at the back and lifts so the disc pack can be inserted into the drive. Three operating switches on the front read: ENABLE/DISABLE; READ-WRITE/READ ONLY; and START/STOP. This Memorex disc drive was meant to be used with Memorex Mark VI, IBM 2316, or equivalent disc packs. The IBM 2316 was manufactured as part of the IBM System/360 mainframe computer.
