Form letter from Dean L. M. Lawson, Medical College of Ohio, informing J. B. Cline that his examination was satisfactory, and he will be recommended for the degree of Doctor of Medicine. Leonidas Moreau Lawson (1812-1864) moved to Cincinnati in 1840, established the “Western Lancet,” and joined the faculty of the Medical College of Ohio in 1847. John Baptiste Cline (1826-1899) was born in France, graduated from the Medical College of Ohio, served as an assistant surgeon with the Union Army during the Civil War, and then practiced medicine in Perintown, Ohio.
