Description:

Thumb lancet with a “HELMOLD” inscription on the blade, probably made by Louis V. Helmold (fl. 1851-1897), a surgical instrument maker in Philadelphia. This apparently belonged to Dr. Clarence Leidy (1873-1926) of Philadelphia.
