Photograph of Man with Octant

The octant held by the man in this photograph appears to have been made by Richard Patten. Since the image of the octant is reversed, the photograph is probably a copy of the original. The inscription on the front of the photograph reads Captain David Bowen Moore. Born Dec. 27, 1793." That on the back reads "Wm E. Service / Photographer / 4 E. Commerce St. Bridgton, N.J."
