Acoustic Instrument Support

Description:

This heavy steel support was designed to hold a tuning fork in a Lissajous experiment. It was made by Rudolph Koenig in Paris, and acquired for the Smithsonian by Joseph Henry, the physicist who served as the founding Secretary of the Institution. An inscription reads "RK".
