Oval half-length portrait of a blue-eyed, brown-haired young woman in bridal or wedding attire, facing and looking at the viewer; a bouquet of white lilies and other flowers rest on her left arm. She wears a veil with an embellished cloche or juliet cap, a square-necked dress with ruched or embroidered layers, and a single-strand pearl necklace with large pearl at bottom. Multicolored mottled background; light is from right. Signed at lower right. Housing includes a convex lens, rounded bezel, and case with post-and-ring hanger; case reverse is engraved "ELIZABETH GRIGGS COOKE / May 1922". Hangs in a red velvet-covered display frame fitted to hold eight miniatures, 1989.0343.16-.23.
