U.S. Army Signal Corps type GN-37 direct current generator

Description (Brief):

A GN-37 generator for SCR-178 & 179 radio sets. Metal plate reads: "Signal Corps U.S. Army / Generator GN-37/ 8 volts 3.25 amps 500 volts 0.1 amp / Ser. No .872 Order No. 1186-NY-41 / Made by Continental Electric Co., Inc. / Newark N.J." Size: (body of generator) 8 1/4 x 7 1/2 x 9 1/2". (assembled) 16 x 25 x 36". Square case with rounded corners. Oliver drab in color. Provided with 3-legged stand with seat for operator. Generator provides plate and filament power to the transmitter at 8 and 500 volts.
