“Beneath the Evening Star”

Description:

This sheet music for the song “Beneath the Evening Star” was written by Walter H. Ford and composed by John W. Brattow. The music was originally published by Witmark and Sons of New York, New York in 1900, and appeared in a supplement to the New York Herald on March 29, 1903. The sheet has an image of a house on a hill, with a foreground of flowers. Newspapers would often include these supplements in their Sunday editions to boost sales because of the popularity of sheet music during this time.
