Felipe Alou


Felipe Alou was one of many players featured on collectible coins made by Topps and included in packs of baseball cards.

Alou was an outfielder for many teams throughout his career, including the San Francisco Giants (1958-63,) Atlanta Braves (1964-69,) Oakland Athletics (1970-71,) New York Yankees (1971-73,) Montreal Expos (1973) and Milwaukee Brewers (1974).

A three-time All-Star, Alou led the league in hits in 1966 and 1968.

After his retirement, Alou was became Major League Baseball's first Dominican-born manager, leading the Expos from 1992 to 2003 and the Giants from 2003 to 2006, winning the National League Manager of the Year award in 1994.
