10 Years of Word

Description:

In 1983, Microsoft Corporation launched the word processing program Word. On the tenth anniversary of that occasion, the company distributed this box of leaflets in a box covered with black plastic. There is one leaflet for each year from 1983 to 1993. The leaflets contain images of Microsoft Word promotions, reviews, and products of the year, as well as comments on program development and sales; and references to contemporary events.

Also included in the box are copies of two 1983 press releases of Microsoft Corporation relating to the launch of the Microsoft mouse and the release of Word, as well as a copy of a press release from later in 1983 announcing an improvement in Word planned for 1984.
