Parabolic Arch Puzzle

Description:

This wooden puzzle requires arranging fifteen blocks around a parabolic core with the top edge in the shape of a parabola, forming an arch. The core may be removed.

Architects have used parabolic arches in structures, especially bridges, since at least the nineteenth century. The donor acquired the model for use in a mathematics course for non-mathematics majors.
