Juan Marichal

Description:

Juan Marichal was one of many players featured on collectible coins made by Topps and included in packs of baseball cards. Marichal was a pitcher for the Giants (1960-73), Red Sox (1974), and Dodgers (1975). He was a National League All-Star between 1962 and 1969, playing both games in 1962, and in 1971. Marichal also led the National League in pitching statistics, with the most wins in 1963 with 25 wins and in 1968 with 26 wins. He also earned the highest winning percentage in the National League in 1966, and was the number one player in most completed games in 1964 with 22 games and in 1968 with 30 games. Finally, Marichal had the most shutouts in the National League in 1965 with 10 and also in 1969 with eight. In 1975, the Giants retired his number and in 1983, Marichal was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
