Carte-de-visite made by C.C Giers; Portrait of a balding man with a beard, sitting next to a table with floral tablecloth. The man is dressed in a suit and has a pen in his hand, as if he was ready to write. Label on verso: "C.C. Giers, Successsor to F.N. Hughes, Corner Union and College Sts., Nashville, Tenn.". Handwritten in ink on verso: "This is [illegible] of [illegible]".
