Patent model for Hazen J. Batchelder, “Tooth Extractor,” U.S. Patent 15,965 (Oct. 28, 1856). An inscription on the wooden handle reads “BATCHELDER.” Hazen J. Batchelder (1836-1907) was an inventor in Vermont.
