Description:

This is an unaddressed envelope for the June 26, 1978 first day of issue/first day cover of the United States commemorative postage stamp honoring photography. It was issued in Las Vegas, NV. It contains a photographic print inside.

The semi-jumbo stamp is oriented vertically, and the black print along the bottom reads: "Photography USA 15ยข"

The image on both the stamp and the included color photograph depicts a wooden camera (plate camera?) with black bellows sitting on an album, surrounded by various accessories such as a flash bulb, vintage brass lens, and color filters.

The text on the color photograph reads: "Eastman Kodak Company salutes photography on the occasion of the first day of issue of the United States commemorative postage stamp honoring photography. June 26, 1978. Las Vegas, Nevada. This historic souvenir first day cover is sent to you in the spirit of helping to achieve worldwide understanding through the medium of photography."
