Creatures on the Loose! No. 21 features the story "Two Worlds to Win!," written by George Alec Effinger and pencilled by Gray Morrow. It features the character "Gulliver Jones," who is featured on Jim Steranko's cover art.

Gullivar Jones, an interplanetary adventurer,was first introduced in Edwin Lester Arnold's 1905 work of speculative fiction, Lieut. Gullivar Jones: His Vacation .

The comic also includes two other stories, both reprinted from earlier Marvel titles; "I was a Prisoner of the Martians" and "The Green Thing!"

The anthology series "Creatures on the Loose" first appeared in 1969 under the title "Tower of Shadows," assuming its new name in 1971.
