Marvel's Captain Marvel, not to be confused with the similarly named Fawcett/ DC character, has been associated with a number of individual's within the Marvel universe. In this iteration, the Captain is pilot Carol Danvers, once known as the superheroMs. Marvel.

Danvers/ Ms. Marvel was first introduced in Marvel Super Heroes No. 13 by Roy Thomas and Gene Colan. She assumed the title of Captain Marvel in DeConnick's series, beginning in 2012.

The character has been played by actress Brie Larson in the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including 2019's Captain Marvel.
