Channel 2 Auction tote bag

This tote bag comes from fundraising auctions for the Boston-area public broadcast company, WGBH. The company’s television channel is Channel 2. Auctions are one part of the company’s fundraising strategy.

WGBH was among the companies that introduced the practice of giving premiums, or thank you gifts, to supporters of public radio and public television. Familiar with the university fundraising operations’ use of premiums, WGBH began offering such gifts to supporters in the 1970s.
