An inscription on this gas meter reads “Patented June 5, 1880. American Meter Co. New York. 2 Light Meter No. 756791.” A circular brass tag on the front of the rectangular tin case reads “AMERICAN METER / NEW YORK / . . .” The dials read in cubic feet.
