Description:

Hand balance with a 4.5-inch steel beam, two deep copper pans, and four brass weights (marked 3, 4, 8 and 32). The whole fits in a rectangular wooden case, with a paper inside the lid marked “A Table by which may be Calculated the Value of any Weight of Diamonds” and “All sorts of Scales & Weights for Diamonds &c made & sold BY DE GRAVE, SHORT & COMPY. (Late M. Degrave & Son) 59, ST. MARTIN LE GRAND, LONDON.”
