Mohr’s balance is named for Karl Friedrich Mohr (1806-1879), a German chemist responsible for several key improvements to chemical methodology. The beam of this example is 17.5 inches long, and marked “10 Kg” on one side. The pans are 11 inches diameter. The height is 27 inches. The small scale is ivory. The indicator points down.
