Flagon

Description:

Small Toulouse type bulbous or bellied flagon or pichet with tapered galleried rim and pedestal base; no spout. Double-acorn thumb piece with upturned wedge extension burnt to the flat-top tapered lid, which has an applied disk at center stamped with a fleur-de-lis above the incuse serif letters "I B M". Lid incised with three wide lines on top and side; rim and base have two thin lines; and top of neck and base have one thin line. Strap handle with stepped thumbrest and square lower terminal; no strut. Bottom underside struck once with partial touchmark that has interlocking "C"s at center.
