Mainframe Computer Component, JOHNNIAC Core Plane


This magnetic core plane memor for the JOHNNIAC has large cores, widely spaced, as well as amplifier coils on plastic rods at the lower end of the unit. It is marked "Mnemotron, International Telemeter Corportation". The fiberboard frame has a coaxial connector at one end.

For Selectron tubes from the JOHNNIAC, see EM.318484.01 and EM.328484.02. These were the basis of the computer's memory before the intrroduction of the core plane.
