He holds a M1 rifle in his left hand (on his hand there is a gold wedding band) and rests his right hand on his hip. Wise has brown hair, blue eyes, and is clean shaven. His uniform has been gone over with a thin coating of the color blue (common for most Chase Medal of Honor portraits). His signature in pencil is in the bottom right corner of the portrait.
