1840 - 1860 Inscribed Pieced Mat

Description (Brief):

This pieced and quilted mat has an ink inscription in the center: "May your Marriage on earth - A true emblem now be - Of a far bettter union - In Heaven for Thee M C M." The fabrics used are plain white and roller-printed cottons. It is bound and quilted.
