1810 - 1820 Printed Glazed Cotton Quilt Center

Description (Brief):

This printed glazed cotton panel has a medallion with a floral bouquet on a red ground enclosed by a scrolled border. It is block-printed in pink rose, red, yellow, tan, gray, black, apricot, with penciled blue, over painted green and white reserves, on black ground. Medallions of this kind were used for such furnishings as chair cushions and quilts.
