Harvey B. Dodworth (1822-1891) was a bandmaster, conductor, and businessman. Dodworth was born in England and immigrated to the United States with his family around 1825. Soon thereafter, his father, Thomas Dodworth, Sr. and brother, Allen Dodworth, formed the Independent Band of New York. In 1836, the Independent Band of New York dissolved and became the Dodworth Band under the leadership of Allen Dodworth. Harvey Dodworth took over the leadership of the Dodworth band in the late 1830s until 1890.
