Coverlet fragment, New York, 19th century


Fragment of a coverlet. Woven with cotton and wool in both the weft and warp in blue and white diamond and tree design, similar to the "Lovers Knot ." Made for the donor's grandfather, who was born in Cayuga County , New York in 1790.
