Buccaneer's Girl lobby card

Lobby card for Universal International Pictures’ 1950 motion picture, Buccaneer’s Girl. Frederick De Cordova directed this action film about a New Orleans woman’s wild adventures with a pirate. Yvonne De Carlo, Philip Friend, and Robert Douglas star in this film. This card depicts Frederic Baptiste interrogating Deborah McCoy.

Lobby cards were once a popular form of advertisement for motion pictures. The publicity departments of Hollywood studios created cards featuring striking images of their latest films and delivered sets to theatres across the country. Lobby cards were created to entice future audiences and increase ticket sales.
