Walt Simon Basketball Card

This Walt Simon basketball card is number 224 in a series of 264 that was manufactured by the Topps Company Inc. for the 1972-1973 American Basketball Association (ABA) season. The front of the card features a posed picture of the Kentucky Colonels forward on an orange background. The card’s reverse features a small cartoon image illustrating the factoid that “Walt was a high school soccer player,” as well as a short biography and career statistics.

Simon spent his entire career in the ABA, playing for the New Jersey Americans, New York Nets, and Kentucky Colonels from 1967-1974. In 1969, he was selected to play in his only ABA All-Star game. Simon scored 18 points on 8-for-11 shooting in the contest.
