This Matt Guokas basketball card is number 18 in a series of 264 manufactured by the Topps Company Inc. for the 1973-1974 NBA season. The front of the card features an in-game action photo of the Kansas City-Omaha Kings guard. The card’s reverse features a small cartoon image illustrating the factoid that “Matt constantly keeps the Ball Moving,” as well as a short biographical sketch and career statistics.
Guokas played for seven teams during his 11 year NBA career, winning an NBA championship as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers in 1967. He went on to coach in the NBA, as well as serve as a commentator for NBC in the 1990s. Guokas's father, Matt Guokas, Sr., and uncle, Al Guokas, both played professional basketball as well.
