Les Hunter Basketball Card

Description:

This Les Hunter basketball card is number 263 in a series of 264 manufactured by the Topps Company Inc. for the 1973-1974 ABA season. The front of the card features a posed picture of the Memphis Tams forward. The card’s reverse features a small cartoon image illustrating the factoid that “They Call him ‘Big Game’ hunter,” as well as a short biographical sketch and career statistics.

Hunter won the 1963 NCAA Basketball Championship as a member of Loyola University of Chicago before playing one season in the NBA with the Baltimore Bullets in 1964-65. After two years out of major league basketball, Hunter joined the American Basketball Association for the 1967-68 season, ultimately playing six seasons in that league with the Minnesota Muskies, Miami Floridians, New York Nets, Kentucky Colonels, and Memphis Tams. Hunter would twice be a member of the ABA's All-Star team.
