Description (Brief):

Program for the 1934 production of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, staged by the California Festival Association at the Hollywood Bowl, San Francisco Opera House, and The University of California, produced by Meyer W. Weisgal, and directed by Max Reinhardt. The production featured David Lawrence as Theseus, Ingeborg Tillish as Hippolyta, Hollis Davenny as Egeus, Richard Stark as Lysander, George Walcott as Demetrius, Olivia De Havilland as Hermia, Marion Shilling as Helena, Leif Erickson as Oberon, and Mickey Rooney as Puck. The program's cover features a photograph of Reinhardt above a reproduction of his autograph. The program includes notes on the production, author, composer (Mendelssohn), and photographs of the cast.
