This medallion was presented to Ella Fitzgerald by The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS), in 1983. It is made of cast bronze, with its original box made of paper, covered in black leatherette, with a red interior. Jazz vocalist Ella Fitzgerald received this medallion in appreciation from NARAS as a presenter on the awards show. The medallion is cast:
