Controller Calculating Machine Component


This object was collected by Brooklyn high school teacher and historian of mathematics L. Leland Locke and held by the Museums of the Peaceful Arts in New York City before coming to the Smithsonian. The metal frame of this object contains seven key stems with white plastic keys, a numeral wheel at the top of the keys, and related mechanisms. The metal strip below the keys is painted green. Key stems tied in place with string. Compare to 1983.3003.09, 1983.3003.40, and 311948.
