Psychological Test, Furfey Scale for Developmental Age

Description:

This collection contains materials related to the Furfey Scale for Developmental Age. They were prepared by Paul Hanly Furfey, an ordained Roman Catholic priest and member of Catholic University’s sociology department. While his early work was more research oriented, his later work was characterized by Sociological Analysis as being “of a theological and ethical nature.” The materials in the Furfey Scale for Developmental Age have been assigned six subindex numbers:

316371.11.01: Furfey Scale for Developmental Age Form 1 (Boys). This four page text was published by Catholic Education Press. Each page had a different test: reading preferences, play interests, attitudes, and activity preferences.

316371.11.02: Directions for Giving the No. 24521 Furfey test for Developmental Age. This sheet is typed and has seven steps of instructions for proctoring the exam.

316371.11.03: Directions for Giving the No. 24521 Furfey Test for Developmental Age. This sheet is typed and has seven steps of instructions for proctoring the exam. The directions are slightly different than the other set of instructions in this collection. (For example, the word little is capitalized in instruction number six on one sheet and not the other.)

316371.11.04: This is the Furfey anwer key entitled “Directions for Scoring the Test.” It is a thin piece of maroon cardboard that has numbers one and two listed on it.

316371.11.05: Directions for Scoring the Test. This lists three steps that the scorer should follow, as well as a chart of the scores and how they correspond to developmental age.

316371.11.06: Test for Developmental Age. Form B-3. The booklet contains six different tests including “Things to Do,” “Things to be When You Grow Up,” “Books to Read,” “Things to Have,” “Things to See,” and “Things to Think About.”
