Patent model, Weston rotating armature, US Patent #234,443

Description (Brief):

Reference: US Patent 234443, "Rotating Armature for Dynamo Electric Machine," issued 16 November 1880 to Edward Weston. A wooden model showing the structure of the armature as detailed in the patent. No wire windings are extant. Weston designed a hollow armature with multiple holes to allow air to flow through and cool the armature.
