Roget Reciprocating Spiral, unit consists of a reciprocating coil of wire mounted in a clamp on a round wooden base. The tip of the wire dips into a cup of mercury, and electro-dynamic action causes the wire spiral to oscillate. Mercury has been removed from this specimen.
