Acme Portable Testing Set electrical bridge

Description (Brief):

This testing set and bridge consists of an instrument with brass terminals, blocks, and plug connectors in a wooden case with lid; marked "The Acme Portable Testing Set / #636," Queen and Company, Philadelphia, Pa. A self-contained galvanometer is provided for balancing the bridge and general testing. The resistors in this set are made of platenoid which is an alloy of tungsten, copper, nickel and zinc. manganin, which is not affected by temperature, subsequently replaced platenoid and other alloys for this purpose.
