Vulcanite

Description:

While vulcanite is a rare copper telluride mineral, it is also the name that Charles Goodyear gave to the flexible rubber that he made from natural rubber in 1843. This sample belonged to George Burrell Snow (1835-1923), professor of mechanical dentistry at the University of Buffalo.
