In 1954, having won the Pulitzer Prize for his autobiography, The Spirit of St. Louis, Charles A. Lindbergh donated the $500 prize money to the School of Dental and Oral Surgery at Columbia University in hon-or of Charles Henry Land (1847–1922), an innovative dentist and his maternal grandfather. Lindbergh also donated several small items that Land had made for him. This is one of those items.
