Dental Forceps


Dental forceps with inscriptions that read “H. R. SHERWOOD” and “J. T. TOLAND.” H. R. Sherwood was a manufacturer of dental instruments working in Cincinnati. John T. Toland (ca. 1830-1863) was the proprietor of a dental depot in Cincinnati. He showed several dental instruments at the Ohio Mechanics’ Institute Fair of 1858. And he advertised as exclusive agent for Sherwood’s forceps in 1859.
