The obverse of this bronze medal has a profile head of a child, and “PVER MELLIOR CIVIS OPTIMUS.” The reverse has “Awarded by / CHILDREN / THE MAGAZINE / FOR PARENTS / TO / ARNOLD GESELL / FOR ‘INFANCY AND HUMAN GROWTH’ / ADJUSTED THE BEST SCIENTIFIC / CONTRIBUTION TO CHILD DEVELOPMENT / PUBLISHED DURING 1928.”
